Would this style look good on me?
Your stylist will be honest about whether or not the look you’re going for is right for your hair type and face shape. If they don’t feel it’s the right fit, they may offer an alternative or you can ask for a recommendation.
How much hair will you be cutting off?
Sometimes it’s hard to visualize how much hair you will actually be losing to achieve a desired look. Your stylist may be able to tuck your hair under or hide the length that will be cut so you can determine if it’s an amount that you’re comfortable with.
How much maintenance and styling will this look require?
If you’re a low-maintenance person, the last thing you want is a high-maintenance style. If you’re looking for a style that will easily air-dry, make sure that the style you’re leaning toward isn’t going to take you an hour, multiple products and sore arms to achieve each morning.
Can you show me how to style it?
Many times, we leave the salon loving our hair, but then have no idea how to duplicate it the next day. Your stylist is ready to walk you through the steps they are taking to style your hair so you can do it yourself at home, along with the products needed to maintain the look and how much of each product to use.
How will this style grow out?
Whether you can visit your local Great Clips salon regularly or know you’ll have longer time between visits, ask your stylist how the style will grow out so you can prepare for it.
How is my hair and scalp health?
Great Clips stylists are not only great at haircuts, they’re also great at evaluating hair and scalp health. If you’re curious about the overall health of your hair and scalp, you can ask your stylist how it’s looking up there and for recommendations to improve the health of your hair.
How often should I be washing my hair?
If you’re making a drastic change, the amount that you need to wash your hair may change. Over-washing strips the natural oils from your hair which can make it more difficult to style, but not washing often enough can make hair greasy and flat. Your stylist will be able to give you a benchmark to help you maintain your style and keep your hair looking and feeling healthy.
How often should I come back for a trim?
This will depend on your hair type, length and desired style, but part of maintaining the style you want is making regular salon visits to trim those split ends or freshen up that fade. Your stylist will be able to give you an idea of how often you should be heading to the salon.
Great Clips stylists want to know your questions and concerns so they can help you achieve the perfect cut, the healthiest hair and a style that fits your style. So, before you head to the salon, make a list of your top questions and your Great Clips stylist will be happy to put your mind at ease and answer them!
